Kristen Nagy
Executive Director
Kristen is the Executive Director at Oaks Family Care Center. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from Baldwin-Wallace College. She has worked and volunteered with various government and non-profit agencies, such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Medina County Juvenile Court, The Centers, and Providence House. Kristen has experience working with families and individuals in crisis and is interested in the difficult issues that are facing our society today. Kristen’s passion is helping those in need as well as the community. She feels the greatest gift you can give someone is your time. You never know what someone else has lived through and sometimes a brief conversation can leave a lasting impact on that person as well as yourself. As Proverbs 3:27 reads, “Do not pass by a man in need, for you may be the hand of God to him.” Kristen enjoys spending time with her husband and two children as well as travelling when possible.
Dawn Martin
Ministry & Volunteer Coordinator
I was raised in Brunswick and attended Brunswick High School. I have worked in many office positions over the years and have been retired from full time work for three years. I always wanted to be a volunteer but while raising two children as a single parent did not have much time outside the responsibilities of family and work. I started volunteering at Oaks Family Care Center two years ago and always enjoyed the loving and helpful atmosphere. The thing I love most about being a part of the Oaks Family is that we are faith-based and help those in need without any judgment, no matter the reason you come through our doors. You eventually become part of our Oaks Family too. When the Ministry Coordinator job became available I was pleased and honored to be offered the position of overseeing the volunteers and the different classes offered, the community service projects and working with the community.

Gayle Lenhart

Gayle is the Oaks bookkeeper. She is a volunteer for the Detention Center Ministry that goes into the Medina County Juvenile Detention Center to do Bible study with the youth there. She moved to the Brunswick area in 1998. One day while reading the Brunswick Sun Times she saw an article on an organization that had opened in the area and they were needing volunteers. She went and met with Betty. They spoke about many things, and Gayle started her first volunteer position with the walk-a-thon fundraiser and had a great time. Board Member
Deb Wilson-Bargar
Deb is a volunteer with the juvenile detention center, works young parents and pregnant women, and sits on the Oaks Family Care Center board. She become involved with Oaks at a time when her daughter was going through some personal challenges and then someone asked if Deb could help with some classes since she is a retired nurse.
She continues her path with Oaks because she loves being here. Deb feels that when you come through Oaks doors, it feels like a safe and loving environment and you feels the Lord's presence there.
Vice Chair of the Board
Bob Wynne
Bob has been a huge supporter of Oaks Family Care Center and helps in any way that he can, including service on the Board of Directors. He has an appreciation for the efforts that Oaks makes to support healthy family life and in this spirit he chose to join the Oaks board. He has said that "Today, more than ever, it seems that families and individuals need support and encouragement," and he feels that Oaks has been on the forefront of that effort for over 20 years with no intent to retreat.
In the Bible study "Experiencing God" the Blackabys wrote, "look around you to see what God is doing and join him in it." That may look different each person. Oaks' director, staff and volunteers seek to express God's grace and mercy as each unique situation presents in tself. Not all organizations approach the human experience with the intent to bring glory to God. That is Oaks at its core.
Board Member
Sandra Porter
Sandra has been sitting on the board for Oaks since 2019. She came to Oaks for help in 2009 for help with her own blended family and children. The help Oaks provided was unmeasurable and she vowed that someday she would pay it forward. In 2018 when she had heard about the Families First Program being offered at Oaks, she felt God calling her to volunteer. Soon after joined our board.
Sandra feels that the kindness, caring and compassion that Oaks shows to everyone who walks through their doors or calls for help is unlike anything else. The Oaks truly cares and lives out their mission on a daily and weekly basis.
Board Treasurer
Jacob Davidson
Jacob was approached by Stan and Betty about Oaks Family Care Center and has since served as the treasurer. He delivers the financial reports during board meetings and acts as the go-to for legal questions.
Jacob feels that Oaks is big enough to make a difference in people's lives and small enough to pivot to serve any community as they arise. Everyone from the top of the organization to the bottom is passionate and giving.
